Theme: - “Come Holy Spirit and Thou shall renew the Face of the Earth”
Acts 2:1-11 [Coming of the Spirit]
On this day the Holy Spirit in fiery tongues descended upon the apostles and the Mother of Jesus. Today the law of grace and purification from sin was announced. Three thousand were baptized.
Psalm 104 [Renewal by the Spirit]
Lord, send out your Spirit, and renew the face of the earth.
1 Corinthian 12:3b-7, 12-13 [Grace of the Spirit]
No one can confess the divinity and sovereignty of Jesus unless inspired by the Holy Spirit. Different gifts and ministries are given but all for the one body with Jesus.
Sequence (Veni, Sancte Spiritus) [Come, Holy Spirit]
Gospel Acclamation- John 10:14 [Fire of God’s Love]
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.
John 20:19-23 [Christ Imparts the Spirit]
Jesus breathes on the disciples to indicate the conferring of the Holy Spirit. Here we see the origin of power over sin, the Sacrament of Penance. This shows the power of the Holy Spirit in the hearts of human beings.
